Job Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise Assistant Project Officer, MPCAC Facilitator and Community Mobilizer to ensure achievement of program objectives.
- Plan, monitor and evaluate project progress; ensure timely and quality delivery and flag issues to line manager.
- Strengthen community-based child protection through establishment and management of CBCPCs and child/adolescent groups.
- Manage and support child protection case management: identification, assessment, documentation, referral and follow-up in line with Children Act 2013 and SOPs.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and capacity building to field staff and community volunteers.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, government offices and other agencies to strengthen referral systems and collaboration.
- Ensure confidentiality, data protection and appropriate use of case files, registers and databases.
- Support MEAL team with monitoring, evaluation and reporting; prepare inputs for donor and management reports.
- Represent the organization in community forums and maintain an up-to-date map of available services.
- Respond to emergency and natural disaster related tasks as required by the project.

Job Description
Breaking the Silence (BTS) invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Project Officer to support child protection, community engagement and case management activities in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar. This job circular provides an exciting opportunity to join a respected non-profit company working directly with Rohingya refugees and adjacent host communities. The role is field-based, requires strong community development and case management skills, and is suited for candidates with prior NGO experience in child protection or related social work disciplines.Overview:This is a full-time position based in Ukhiya Upazila, Cox's Bazar, implemented under a time-bound humanitarian project supported by Save the Children and funded by ECHO.The Project Officer will be responsible for managing staff engaged in community-based child protection activities, strengthening community-based child protection committees (CBCPCs), supervising case management, overseeing child protection MEAL and reporting, and liaising with stakeholders and service providers.Key responsibilities:Lead and manage the child protection team (Assistant Project Officer, MPCAC Facilitator, Community Mobilizer) ensuring staff achieve intended program results and adhere to safeguarding requirements.Plan, monitor and evaluate project activities and ensure timely, quality delivery of project outputs.Strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms: establish and support CBCPCs, run adolescent/child groups and youth groups, deliver training and awareness sessions, and document meeting minutes.Supervise child protection case management: identification, assessment, documentation, case planning, referrals and follow-up in line with the Children Act 2013 and case management SOPs.Promote appropriate record keeping, confidentiality and data protection protocols; ensure usage of accurate case files, registers and databases.Provide capacity building, coaching and mentoring to junior staff and community volunteers; plan and conduct trainings and workshops with government officials and community actors.Coordinate and represent the organization at community and inter-agency forums; maintain an up-to-date map of service providers and referral pathways.Work closely with MEAL and reporting teams to provide inputs for monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports and donor reporting requirements.Be prepared to support emergency response and natural disaster interventions when required.Required qualifications & experience:Master's Degree in Social Science (MSS) or other relevant discipline. Exceptional experience may compensate for formal education requirements.Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in program implementation within a national or international NGO (preferably in child protection, community development or similar).Experience working in Cox's Bazar context (host/Rohingya communities) is a significant advantage.Skills & competencies:Strong knowledge of child protection principles, case management and safeguarding policies.Experience organizing and facilitating participatory trainings, workshops, FGDs and community meetings.Excellent interpersonal, team-building, problem-solving and partnership development skills.Good written and spoken English and Bangla.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Ability to travel frequently across camps and host communities within Ukhiya Upazila; ability to work under pressure.Motorcycle driving skill with a valid motorcycle driving license is preferred.Benefits & terms:Gross monthly salary: Taka 53,554 (as stated).Two days weekend.Office hours, annual leave, increment and other facilities as per BTS HR policy and subject to project budget availability.3 months probation period.
