Education Requirements

Master's degree (MBA preferred). Masters in Management, HRM or Sustainability from a reputed university. MBA in HRM or PGDHRM preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage full hiring cycle from job posting to onboarding of new hires.
  • Coordinate with department heads to identify staffing needs and provide HR support.
  • Address disciplinary issues with fairness and adherence to company policies.
  • Adopt positive workplace culture through employee engagement practices and programs.
  • Design and implement learning and development programs tailored to organizational goals.
  • Develop and execute talent management and succession planning strategies.
  • Prepare factories for buyer visits and 3rd party audits.
  • Follow up on reported CAPs (Corrective Action Plans) from internal and external audits.
  • Carry out special assignments/projects as per management directives.
  • Assign and manage team activities across factories and maintain progress records.
  • Ensure implementation of buyer Codes of Conduct, labor law and international rules in suppliers/factories.
  • Communicate regularly with customers, factories, audit companies and other offices regarding audit/CAP/remediation updates.
  • Take steps to improve factory conditions and resolve nonconformities in a sustainable manner.
  • Maintain deadlines for buyer weekly/biweekly/monthly/quarterly/annual requirements.

Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge of Bangladesh Labour Laws
  • Experience with ICS, BSCI, SEDEX, ACCORD, WRAP, C-TPAT, Higg (FEM/SLCP), SQP, GTW audits
  • Environmental audits and sustainability certifications knowledge
  • EMS/ISO-14001 auditor training
  • SA-8000, OHSAS/ISO 18001, NIBOSH, NIRAPON or equivalent health & safety training
  • HR software and recruitment tools proficiency

Shengda Bangladesh is seeking an experienced and driven Manager (HR & Compliance) to join our growing team. The position is based in Bangladesh and requires the candidate to be hands-on, proactive and able to coordinate with multiple stakeholders including buyers, factories, audit firms and internal teams.Why join this company?Be part of a fast-growing apparel sourcing company that bridges buyers with manufacturers.Work in a role that impacts compliance, worker welfare and sustainability across supplier factories.Collaborate with international buyers and third-party auditors on CAP remediation and continuous improvement projects.Key responsibilities (high level)Own the full recruitment lifecycle from job posting to onboarding and orientation.Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs and provide timely HR support.Manage disciplinary matters with fairness and in line with company policy and Bangladesh labor laws.Design and implement employee engagement, L&D and talent management initiatives to nurture high-potential staff and ensure succession planning.Prepare and coordinate factory readiness for buyer visits and third-party audits; lead remediation and CAP closure processes.Follow up on audit findings and ensure CAPs are implemented sustainably, liaising with customers, factories and auditors.Ensure compliance with buyer Codes of Conduct, national labor law and international standards across suppliers.Drive continuous improvement on factory conditions to avoid nonconformities and ensure sustainable remediation.Assign and supervise team activities across factories, keeping clear records and reporting progress.Required skills and competenciesSolid knowledge of Bangladesh labor laws and international compliance standards (ICS, BSCI, SEDEX, ACCORD, WRAP, C-TPAT, Higg, SQP, GTW).Experience with environmental and occupational health & safety standards (ISO 14001, OHSAS/ISO 18001, NIBOSH).Proven ability to manage audits, CAPs, remediation plans and multi-stakeholder communications.Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.Familiarity with HR software, recruitment tools and performance management systems.Qualifications & experienceMasters degree (MBA preferred) — Masters in Management, HRM or Sustainability preferred.
