Job Responsibilities

As a Nurse in our ophthalmic unit you will contribute meaningfully to patient care, surgical assistance, and community outreach — gaining valuable hands-on experience in a supportive environment.Key responsibilities (job duties)Assist ophthalmologists during examinations, minor procedures, and surgeries.Prepare patients for eye examinations and operations, including pre-operative checks.Administer prescribed medications and topical eye drops as instructed.Monitor patients’ condition before, during, and after procedures and report any changes appropriately.Educate patients and caregivers on eye care, medication use, and post-treatment guidelines.Maintain accurate and timely medical records, documentation, and patient files.Ensure cleanliness, infection control, and proper sterilization procedures in the working area.Support outpatient flow and triage, and provide compassionate patient handling and communication.Required education & certificationDiploma or B.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution.Valid registration with the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC) is required.ExperienceMinimum 1 year (typical requirement 1 to 3 years) in hospital nursing; experience in ophthalmology will be preferred.Experience in NGO or non-profit healthcare settings is considered an advantage.Skills & competenciesGood understanding of ophthalmic nursing care and patient preparation for eye surgeries.Strong communication, patient-handling, and teamwork skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment.Compassionate, ethical approach to patient care and sensitivity to the needs of underprivileged populations.Additional information & benefitsSalary: Negotiable (based on qualification and experience).Festival bonus, yearly increments, and other benefits as per hospital policy.Salary review annually; festival bonuses and incentive facilities available.TA/DA facilities where applicable.Who can apply?
