Job Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, thyroid and other diagnostic scans as required.
  • Interpret ultrasound findings and prepare accurate, timely reports for referring clinicians.
  • Ensure proper documentation and patient record management in accordance with facility protocols.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure safety, hygiene, and calibration standards are met.
  • Support clinicians in diagnosis and treatment planning based on imaging findings.
  • Provide counseling and brief explanations to patients while maintaining privacy and comfort.
  • Participate in case discussions, morbidity meetings, and continuous medical education (CME) sessions.
  • Comply with infection prevention and control (IPC) measures and organizational clinical protocols.
  • Provide basic clinical consultation, emergency care, triage, stabilization, and referral of critical cases as needed.
  • Network with local government authorities, NGOs/INGOs, and stakeholders to build rapport and support referrals (approx. 5% of time).
  • Attend in-house and external training as directed; submit periodic reports; be prepared to work beyond standard hours when required.

Required education and certifications: MBBS degree is required. Postgraduate qualification in Radiology or Sonology is typically required — e.g., Diploma in Medical Ultrasonography (DMU), Advanced Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (ADMU), MD/MPhil in Radiology & Imaging, Diploma in Sonology (DS). Valid registration with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC). Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in diagnostic ultrasound. Experience working in humanitarian, NGO, or camp settings is an advantage. Solid knowledge of obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound protocols and familiarity with portable ultrasound devices preferred. Skills and competencies: Strong diagnostic and analytical ability when interpreting ultrasound scans. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English and Bangla; Rohingya language skills are advantageous.
