Job Responsibilities
- Assess surgical patients preoperatively (PAC), counsel and obtain consent for anaesthesia including high-risk consent.
- Inform Surgery Consultant/Anaesthesia Consultant when necessary for complex or high-risk cases.
- Administer anaesthesia in OT, maintain anaesthesia and perform intra-operative monitoring.
- Provide monitoring/sedation for simple surgical procedures performed under local anaesthesia.
- Accompany patient from OT to recovery ward or ICU and manage postoperative care advice (fluid, analgesics, oxygenation).
- Assess postoperative patients in recovery for discharge to ward or day-care.
- Perform emergency call duties in rotation and attend to patients immediately when on call or in emergencies.
