Job Responsibilities

  • Develop 1–3 year market and business development roadmap (markets, sectors, partnerships).
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, service lines, and expansions with feasibility analysis.
  • Identify target segments and positioning strategies for each service category.
  • Design go-to-market (GTM) plans for new services and business units, including pricing and promotional plans.
  • Provide input to Digital Marketing on target groups, messaging, and funnel needs.
  • Conduct ongoing market intelligence and competitor analysis; present data-driven recommendations to management.
  • Align Digital Marketing, Sales, Customer Support and Operations into a unified growth plan.
  • Identify and secure partnerships with consultants, contractors, developers, institutions, and key decision-makers.
  • Set and monitor monthly/quarterly revenue, acquisition and pipeline KPIs; present performance reports to management.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and lead client-facing presentations and technical discussions.
  • Create and manage structured sales pipelines using CRM or internal tools and ensure timely follow-up on leads.
  • Prepare proposals, service solutions, commercial offers and RFQ responses; negotiate pricing and contract terms.
  • Coordinate with project/application teams after contract award for schedule, approvals and client communication.
  • Maintain weekly reports (meetings, pipeline, revenue forecast, competitor news, client feedback) and prepare monthly business review decks.

Overview of the job The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing SEMCORP's 1–3 year business development roadmap, executing go-to-market strategies for new services, identifying and pursuing new market opportunities, and ensuring strong alignment across marketing, sales, operations and customer support for a seamless lead-to-conversion pipeline. Key responsibilities Market & Business Strategy: Develop 1–3 year business development roadmap (markets, sectors, partnerships). Opportunity Evaluation: Evaluate new business opportunities, service lines and expansions using feasibility analysis. Segmentation & Positioning: Identify target segments and positioning strategies for each service category. GTM Planning: Design go-to-market plans for new services and business units including pricing, customer offers and promotional plans. Client Development & Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with engineers, consultants, developers, and facility owners; lead client meetings and technical discussions. Sales Funnel Management: Create and manage structured sales pipelines using CRM or internal tools and ensure timely follow-up on leads. Proposal & Bid Management: Prepare proposals, quotations, RFQ responses; negotiate pricing, terms and contracts. Project Coordination: Coordinate with project/application teams post-award for schedule, approvals and client communication. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain weekly reports on meetings, pipeline, revenue forecast, competitor news and client feedback; prepare monthly business review decks. Required education & experience Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Business or Marketing. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (typical range 3–7 years) in business development or sales within construction, engineering, real estate, construction chemicals or industrial services. Applicants with experience in engineering firms or architecture firms are preferred. Key skills & competencies Strong knowledge of construction/engineering project cycles and B2B sales processes. Experience in proposals, tendering, pricing models, and negotiation. Ability to prepare business plans, forecasting and market analysis. Excellent coordination skills with marketing, technical and operational teams. Strong communication and presentation skills, strategic thinking and high-level business acumen.
