Job Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual financial statements (Statement of Financial Position, Income Statement, Changes in Equity, Cash Flow Statement, Notes) as per IAS & IFRS.
- Prepare Trial Balance, Daily Investment Position, Daily Day Book, and Daily Receipt & Payments.
- Reconciliation of customer and bank accounts.
- Prepare monthly operating budgets and monitor & control costs in accordance with the budget.
- Oversee annual physical inventory processes.
- Manage VAT & Tax compliance and coordinate with NBR and relevant authorities.
- Maintain vouchers, cash book, cheque register, bill register and other accounting records.
- Maintain and update VAT & Tax registers, challans, invoices, Mushak forms and other documentation.
- Verify VAT/TDS deduction on supplier invoices and prepare monthly withholding tax statements.
- Assist with external audits related to VAT, Tax, and regulatory matters and respond to queries.
- Support procurement, sales and other internal teams on VAT & Tax-related matters.
- Keep updated with changes in VAT & Tax laws and communicate them to the team.

Role summary: The Accounts Officer will prepare and manage periodic financial statements and working papers, maintain daily accounting records, coordinate VAT & tax activities, assist with audits, and support the finance team in budgeting and cost control. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (procurement, sales, accounts) for VAT & tax matters and to ensure smooth financial operations. Required qualifications & education: Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting/Finance or Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting/Finance. Professional qualification such as CA (part-qualified), ACCA part-qualified, or ITP will be an added advantage. Experience & candidate profile: 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the garments (RMG) sector. Age: At most 40 years. Gender: Male/Female eligible. Technical & soft skills: Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle). Strong MS Excel and MS Word skills; ability to handle complex spreadsheets and reporting. Good understanding of VAT management software and general VAT & tax rules (NBR, Income Tax Ordinance, VAT Act 2012). Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and coordinate with different departments. Bangla typing skills will be an added advantage.
