Job Responsibilities

  • Manage preventive maintenance and monitor machinery’s condition to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Perform repair or general maintenance work on hatchers, setters and other hatchery structures.
  • Monitor overhauling of generator, PFI (Power Factor Improvement), chiller, air compressor and other hatchery equipment.
  • Conduct troubleshooting of machinery as required and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and implement standard operating procedures to reduce breakdown time.
  • Provide timely requisition with accurate product specification to ensure availability of spare parts.
  • Ensure safety of personnel, materials and machines during maintenance by following all safety policies.
  • Provide periodical safety counseling and awareness training to all hatchery staff to reduce Lost Time Accidents (LTA).
  • Plan and organize maintenance schedules and coordinate with contractors for major overhauls.

Core responsibilities (overview) Manage preventive maintenance programs and continuously monitor machine condition to ensure uninterrupted production in the hatchery. Perform repair and general maintenance of hatchery equipment such as hatchers, setters, chillers, air compressors and associated mechanical/electrical systems. Monitor overhauling activities of generator, Power Factor Improvement (PFI) units, chiller systems and other critical equipment. Conduct troubleshooting of machinery and lead corrective measures to minimize downtime. Develop, evaluate and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reduce breakdown time and improve maintenance response. Prepare accurate requisitions for spare parts with detailed specifications to ensure timely availability. Ensure the safety of personnel, materials and machines during maintenance by strictly following safety policies and best practices. Provide regular safety counseling and awareness training to hatchery staff to reduce Lost Time Accidents (LTA). Detailed responsibilities (expanded) Plan and schedule routine preventive maintenance activities; document maintenance logs and checklist completion. Coordinate with service contractors and in-house teams for major overhauls and equipment servicing. Investigate recurring faults and recommend design or process improvements to reduce repetitive failures. Support inventory control for critical spares and suggest minimum stock levels based on consumption and lead time. Train junior technicians on safe machine operation, preventive maintenance techniques and basic troubleshooting. Participate in cross-functional teams to align maintenance goals with production targets and quality requirements. Required skills & qualifications Diploma in Electrical (required). At least 2 years of relevant experience in hatchery operations or similar business area. Practical working knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical maintenance in industrial settings. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with teams across locations. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize maintenance schedules and spare parts procurement. Willingness to work in remote or rural locations when required. Desired skills Experience specifically in hatchery maintaining and hatchery equipment troubleshooting. Familiarity with generator overhauls, chillers, air compressors and PFI systems.
