Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare yearly, quarterly and monthly workplans for installation of WASH technologies in consultation with Specialist - Technical and District Manager.
  • Select appropriate WASH technology and site considering geo-hydrological conditions, climate, disaster risk, gender and inclusion.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and component specifications in consultation with technical specialists.
  • Manage procurement procedures for materials and services, collect tenders and quotations as per organizational policy.
  • Ensure quality of materials through inspection; supervise installations and document construction progress.
  • Organize and conduct training/orientation for entrepreneurs, masons and sinkers on proper installation and sustainable O&M.
  • Ensure water quality through field testing, sample collection and referral for laboratory testing when required.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor functioning of WASH facilities and document findings for programme colleagues.
  • Collect technical information on WASH technologies and prepare reports to share with WASH programme stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders including DPHE, LGED, local government bodies, suppliers and WASH committees.
  • Promote and implement safeguarding policies; ensure safety and report any safeguarding incidents per procedure.

Key responsibilities (summary): Prepare yearly, quarterly and monthly workplans for installation of WASH technologies in consultation with the Specialist - Technical and District Manager. Select appropriate WASH technologies and sites for communities, schools, industries and healthcare facilities considering local geo-hydrology, climate, disaster risk and inclusion. Prepare detailed drawings, Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and specifications for WASH facility components in consultation with the technical specialist. Manage procurement procedures for materials and services following organisational legal and procurement policies, including collecting tenders and quotations. Supervise installation, inspect and ensure material quality and workmanship; document progress and share with the WASH team. Organize and conduct training / orientation for local entrepreneurs, masons and sinkers on correct installation and sustainable operation & maintenance (O&M) aligned to SDG criteria. Ensure water quality through field testing, sample collection and referral to laboratories when required. Conduct regular field visits to monitor functional status of WASH facilities, discuss findings with user groups and document outcomes. Collect technical information on WASH technologies, prepare technical reports and share with programme colleagues. Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders including DPHE, LGED, local government institutions (Union Parishad, Pourashava), WASH entrepreneurs, suppliers and community WASH committees. Champion safeguarding practices: ensure safety of team members and communities, promote safeguarding policy, and follow reporting procedures for any incidents. Required education and eligibility: Diploma in Civil Engineering from a reputed institution. (Education requirement as stated in the job circular.)
