Job Responsibilities
- Organize training and awareness raising of local disaster responders and community members on the Anticipatory Action Protocol (EAP): risk thresholds, triggers, and types of anticipatory actions.
- Conduct inclusive early warning training for Disaster Management Committees (DMC) and community/ward level awareness sessions.
- Provide readiness/preparedness support: stockpiling equipment, small-scale mitigation works, shelter accessibility and evacuation protocols.
- Retrofitting and accessibility modification of community buildings (one flood shelter per ward).
- Activate Early Action Protocols and provide evacuation support at ward level during emergencies.
- Manage Early Action Contingency Cash support (UCT, voucher/token, cash-for-work) for persons with disabilities.
- Organize capacity-building trainings/webinars for Anticipatory Action and DRM practitioners as well as project partner staff and humanitarian actors.
- Conduct training evaluation and satisfaction surveys; organize quarterly orientations and meetings with UDMC/WDMC on disability inclusion and anticipatory action.
- Organize and build capacity of community volunteers on inclusive early warning and early action.

Mahideb Jubo Somaj Kallayan Somity (MJSKS) invites applications for a Field Facilitator to join a project implemented in collaboration with Handicap International - Humanity & Inclusion (HI). This job circular is oriented toward candidates with demonstrated experience in disaster risk reduction, anticipatory action, inclusive early warning systems, and community-level preparedness. The position is based in Ulipur Upazila, Kurigram district, Bangladesh. The Field Facilitator will play a central role in community engagement, training, preparedness, and activation of early action protocols.Key responsibilitiesOrganize training and awareness-raising of local disaster responders and community members on the developed Anticipatory Action Protocol (EAP): risk thresholds, triggers, and types of anticipatory actions.Conduct training on inclusive early warning for Disaster Management Committees (DMC) and other members; facilitate awareness sessions at community/ward level.Provide readiness/preparedness support for local DRM actors and communities, including stockpiling equipment, small-scale mitigation works, accessibility assessments of shelters, and evacuation protocols.Support retrofitting and accessibility modification of community buildings (one flood shelter per ward recommended).Activate the Early Action Protocol when trigger thresholds are reached; provide ward-level evacuation support during emergencies.Manage Early Action Contingency Cash and other cash modalities (UCT, voucher/token, cash-for-work) for persons with disabilities.Organize capacity-building webinars and workshops for Anticipatory Action and DRM practitioners on inclusive early warning and early action.Deliver disability-inclusive training for Ward Disaster Management Committee (WDMC) members and conduct orientation and quarterly meetings with UDMC on disability inclusion and anticipatory action.Provide training for project partner staff, humanitarian actors, and community volunteers on inclusive early action and conduct training evaluations and satisfaction surveys.Required qualifications, experience and skillsMinimum Bachelor (Honours) degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Disaster Management or related field; flexibility for highly experienced candidates.At least 3 years of proven working experience with INGO/NGO on Disaster Forecasting, Forecast-based Financing, Anticipatory Action, Disaster Risk Reduction or Humanitarian Action.Practical skills in disaster management and climate change adaptation, program planning, implementation, budgeting and financial management.Experience managing community-level projects independently and maintaining liaison with local elected bodies and government authorities.Good knowledge of safeguarding (child protection, gender and anti-sexual harassment), persons with disability inclusion, social protection, and complaint response & feedback mechanisms.Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in Bengali; staff management experience.Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel) and experience in advocacy and networking with NGOs and like-minded organizations.Valid motorbike driving license and willingness to reside at union level with frequent visits to remote areas.Age requirement: At most 45 years.
