Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver sessions for community children groups, school student groups and parents groups on climate change, DRR and leadership.
- Facilitate FGDs and KIIs to gather community perspectives and support children’s participation.
- Communicate and coordinate with Upazila administration, Union Parishad and local stakeholders.
- Support implementation of project activities across designated upazillas and wards.
- Initiate local actions to promote children's voice and leadership in climate resilience.
- Report to the Advocacy Officer and maintain accurate documentation of activities.

Overview: Jagrata Juba Shangha (JJS) invites applications for a motivated and community-oriented Climate Change Educator (CCE). This job is part of a project strengthening children’s voice and leadership in addressing climate change and disaster risk in Bangladesh. The circular invites female candidates with community-level experience to apply and contribute to meaningful change in coastal communities.Why this job matters: As a Climate Change Educator you will work directly with children, parents and community stakeholders to raise awareness, develop leadership and build resilience against climate hazards. This is a great opportunity to work with a respected company active in social and environmental development work across Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira districts.Key responsibilitiesPlan and deliver interactive sessions for community children groups, school student groups and parents groups focused on climate change, DRR and children’s leadership.Facilitate workshops, FGDs and KII to gather community perspectives and strengthen children’s voice.Communicate and coordinate with Upazila administration, Union Parishad, local elites and civil society to promote project initiatives and mobilize support.Support the implementation of project activities in designated upazillas and wards, including preparation of materials, logistics and follow-up activities.Initiate and lead local-level actions that improve children’s participation in climate change adaptation and disaster preparedness.Report regularly to the Advocacy Officer and project supervisors; maintain accurate documentation of sessions, attendance and outcomes.Work in remote and challenging areas and be prepared to work extra hours if required.Required qualifications & experienceBachelor degree in any discipline.Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience at community level (preferably in community development, climate change, disaster risk reduction, education or child-focused programs).Experience facilitating FGDs and KIIs, and working with children and parents group dynamics.Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport with local stakeholders and government bodies.Understanding of coastal communities’ context and challenges in Bangladesh.Willingness to travel and work in remote/challenging areas; proactive attitude and ability to work beyond standard hours when needed.Female candidates only (as specified in the circular).Skills & competenciesCommunity facilitation and training skills.Child safeguarding awareness and commitment to organizational policies on protection and conduct.Strong verbal and written communication in Bangla; basic English desirable.Organizational skills, documentation and basic report writing.Teamwork, cultural sensitivity and adaptability.Employment terms & benefitsPosition: Full Time, based in Khulna (project working areas include Koyra, Dacop, Batiaghata, Rupsha, Mongla, Morrelganj, Sharonkhola, Rampal, Shyamnagar, Ashashuni and selected wards of KCC).Project duration: up to December 2026.Salary: Tk. 28,205 (monthly starting) with upper range up to Tk. 36,666 depending on experience and project budget.Other benefits provided as per project budget and organizational guidelines.Payment modality: monthly, via bank transfer (payment in the last week of each month).How to applyInterested candidates are requested to carefully follow the application instructions in the job circular.
