Key responsibilities Work with flavours, enzymes, cake emulsifiers and other basic food ingredients to develop and optimize bakery formulations. Develop and make samples of bread, biscuits (soft & hard dough), cakes and puff pastry for internal evaluation and customer sampling. Conduct plant trials in customers' labs, plants or bakery facilities to promote the company's portfolio of bakery ingredients and to validate formulations at scale. Optimize formulations and process parameters to ensure consistency, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in production. Explore and trial innovative ingredients, new flavor profiles and advanced processing technologies to expand product offerings. Perform sensory evaluations and organize product testing to assess performance, shelf-life and consumer acceptance. Monitor market trends, competitor products and consumer preferences in bakery segments and translate findings into actionable product improvements. Required skills and experience Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in bakery product development; experience in Manufacturing (FMCG), Food (Packaged) and Bakery (cake, biscuit, bread) is preferred. Practical, hands-on experience in making bread, biscuits, cakes and puff pastry formulations. Knowledge of and experience with flavours, enzymes and emulsifiers used in bakery applications. Ability to conduct plant trials, interpret results and recommend process parameter changes. Strong sensory evaluation skills and familiarity with quality and consistency criteria for bakery products. Good communication skills to interact with customers, plant operators and cross-functional teams. Education Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Food Science & Technology or Food & Nutrition, or BSc in Chemistry. A Master of Science (MSc) in Food Science & Technology is desirable.
