Job Responsibilities

  • Provide overall technical direction for all nutrition components, including SAM/MAM management, IYCF, and micronutrient interventions.
  • Develop and update technical guidelines, training materials, and supervision tools in line with IMAM and NNS protocols.
  • Ensure quality assurance across 26 SAM units through regular field supervision, on-site mentoring, and performance monitoring.
  • Lead the design and implementation of community-based nutrition promotion campaigns, including counseling, cooking demonstrations, and hygiene promotion.
  • Ensure that nutrition interventions are gender-sensitive, inclusive, and culturally appropriate to the multi-ethnic CHT context.
  • Lead capacity strengthening of health service providers and community volunteers on growth monitoring, screening, referral, and case management.
  • Train and mentor 1,300+ government and project health workers in SAM/MAM management, IYCF counseling, and data recording/reporting.
  • Support development of a nutrition mentorship and supportive supervision plan for upazila and union-level actors.
  • Support the Team Leader in developing annual and quarterly implementation plans for the nutrition component.
  • Oversee logistics and supply planning for therapeutic foods, anthropometric equipment, and nutrition commodities.
  • Coordinate community nutrition events and cross-sectoral outreach activities (nutrition–WASH–livelihoods integration).
  • Work closely with the MEAL team to design and apply nutrition indicators, data collection tools, and reporting templates.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting on key performance indicators and review data to identify performance gaps.
  • Serve as the nutrition focal point for coordination with technical and implementing partners and represent the project in district-level coordination committees.
  • Ensure regular communication, performance monitoring, and coaching for field teams and promote teamwork and learning.

Job Description

Helen Keller Intl (HKI) invites experienced nutrition professionals to apply for a key senior-level job leading nutrition programming in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. This circular describes a senior management role with strong technical, programmatic and partnership responsibilities. The Senior Nutrition Manager will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight to ensure high-quality nutrition interventions are designed and delivered to reach marginalized populations across Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagrachari. Key responsibilities (summary) Provide overall technical leadership for nutrition components (SAM/MAM management, IYCF, micronutrients). Ensure quality assurance across SAM units through field supervision, mentoring, and performance monitoring. Lead community-based nutrition promotion campaigns including counselling and hygiene integration. Strengthen capacity of government and project health workers through training and mentorship (target 1,300+ trainees). Support program planning, supply and logistics for therapeutic foods and nutrition commodities. Collaborate with the MEAL team to design nutrition indicators, ensure accurate reporting, and document lessons learned. Coordinate with government counterparts, DPHE, MoCHTA and other partners to ensure alignment and sustainability. Who should apply This job is suitable for candidates with a Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health or a related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience managing large-scale nutrition programs, including at least 3 years in a senior or managerial role. Experience working with government health systems (DGHS/DGFP), and field experience in hard-to-reach or CHT contexts are highly desirable. Candidates from NGO backgrounds with proven technical competence in SAM/MAM, IYCF, and health system strengthening are encouraged to apply. Duration & reporting Approximately 11 months. The Senior Nutrition Manager will report to the Team Leader and will supervise Nutrition Specialists and technical staff. The job requires travel across the project districts (Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagrachari) and close coordination with district-level stakeholders.
