Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular community sessions to raise awareness about eye health and promote preventive care.
  • Organize and mobilize community members to attend eye health camps, providing free screenings for target households.
  • Encourage and support eligible participants to access subsidized reading glasses.
  • Develop and maintain a robust referral system to ensure individuals receive necessary medicines and financial support for eye surgeries.
  • Train school teachers on basic eye health to enable preliminary screenings for students.
  • Assist in organizing consultative workshops involving national-level stakeholders and community representatives.
  • Support training sessions for local health workers/CHCP to enhance their eye care service delivery skills.
  • Manage reading glass stock, including preparing requisitions and ensuring proper inventory maintenance.
  • Conduct comprehensive market assessments, barrier analyses, and gender-sensitive livelihood analyses to identify viable livelihood options.
  • Provide asset transfers and/or financial assistance to eligible households to support livelihood engagement.
  • Organize and celebrate national days related to eye care.
  • Coordinate regularly with OPDs and Govt Eye Health Service Providers for community engagement, outreach, referrals and follow-ups.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports and ensure timely online data entry.
  • Deposit funds from the sale of reading glasses into the designated account in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Promote and enforce safeguarding policies among team members.

Candidates with Diploma in Optometry will be given priority.Minimum 2 years of proven experience working in health-related programs or within NGOs.
