Job Responsibilities
- Prepare preliminary SMV using tech pack or sample reference.
- Verify and obtain all relevant information on styles including operation sequence, method, standard minute values (SMV), machine/attachment requirements.
- Plan, organize, and monitor all industrial engineering (IE) related activities within the factory.
- Develop and implement production process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce SMV.
- Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard minute values (SMV).
- Work with production, planning, and quality teams to ensure target achievement and smooth operation.
- Identify capacity gaps and optimize line balancing for improved output.
- Ensure accurate manpower planning and machine utilization.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through method improvement and waste elimination.
- Maintain accurate IE reports and performance data for management review.
- Support new style development and process engineering during pilot runs.
- Knowledge and oversight of cutting and finishing SMV & capacity.

Required qualifications and skills: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Industrial Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of industrial engineering experience in the RMG/garments industry (5–6 years preferred). Practical knowledge of operation bulletin, line layout, SMV determination and manpower allocation in sewing, cutting and finishing. Experience with cutting/finishing SMV and capacity planning. Ability to optimize operation methods for cost savings and implement lean tools. Strong analytical skills for time study, capacity planning and line balancing. Good coordination skills to work with production, planning and quality teams and to support new project implementation. Other important notes from the circular: Candidate should have prior experience in RMG industry; familiarity with lean manufacturing implementation is a plus.
