Job Responsibilities

Placid is seeking an experienced Sr. Executive / Assistant Manager (Sales-Marketing) to join a results-driven sales team. This job is ideal for a sales professional with deep familiarity in microbiology consumables and laboratory instruments who can build relationships with pharmaceutical factories, generate orders, and grow the company’s presence in the Bangladesh market. They supply consumables, R&D laboratory instruments, test & measurement instruments, process instruments and services. The company office is in Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Why this job is important: The role directly supports sales growth of microbiology consumables (agar media, plastic ware), instruments (freezers, incubators, BSCs, ovens, muffle furnaces), and related products in pharmaceutical and research labs. The right candidate will be responsible for generating leads, closing deals, coordinating with manufacturers, preparing URS-compliant quotations, and managing client relationships. Key responsibilities: Promote, sell and market microbiology consumables and lab equipment (BI, agar media, plastic ware, lab consumables and instruments) to pharmaceutical companies and research labs. Visit pharmaceutical factories and laboratories to demonstrate products, generate new requirements and secure orders. Convince customers using detailed product comparisons and technical value propositions. Communicate with foreign and local manufacturers to source products and confirm specifications. Prepare accurate quotations and proposal documents according to URS and customer requirements. Submit offers promptly and perform regular follow-up to close sales. Collaborate with marketing teams to design and execute campaigns that drive demand. Maintain sales reporting, forecasting and documentation; track targets and pipelines. Lead and mentor junior sales staff and coordinate field activities to open new business opportunities. Required skills and attributes: Strong communication and client relationship management skills. Proven sales & marketing experience in pharmaceutical or laboratory consumables & instruments. Solid knowledge of microbiology market needs (agar media, plastic ware, consumables). Leadership and teamwork capabilities; ability to lead small teams and coordinate multi-stakeholder tasks. Experience in sales reporting, forecasting and documentation. Market research skills and the ability to identify business opportunities. Proven ability to close deals, negotiate terms and manage after-sales follow-up. Education & experience: Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or a BSc (preferably in Microbiology or Biochemistry) or equivalent. At least 5 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical/medicine companies, direct selling/marketing service companies or indenting firms is required. Other requirements & preferences: Only male candidates are being considered for this role (as specified in this circular). Age preference: 27 to 41 years. Candidates from reputed universities (DU, RU, KU, UAP, SEU, BRAC, IUB, National, etc.) are preferred. Knowledge of the local market in Dhaka (especially Uttara) is a plus.
