Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual and quarterly audit plans (Audit Plan).
  • Perform branch- and center-based risk analysis to set audit priorities.
  • Collect follow-up information from previous audit reports.
  • Verify proper documentation for member loan disbursement, re-loan provision and rescheduling.
  • Conduct 100% inspection of audited branch member groups and verify passbooks.
  • Reconcile cash books, bank accounts, vouchers, passbooks and reconciliation statements.
  • Identify inconsistencies among collection sheets, receipt books and transaction registers.
  • Examine outstanding loans, over-collection or under-collection issues.
  • Review branch activities for compliance with PKSF and CEDAR policies.
  • Ensure staff loan disbursement, collection and record-keeping follow policy.
  • Check for unauthorized expenditures, irregularities or misuse of authority.
  • Select sample borrowers for field verification to ensure loans are used for intended purposes.
  • Verify existence of actual members and authenticity of savings and insurance records.
  • Assess branch manager and field staff performance and accountability.
  • Monitor loan collection, write-off and overdue management practices.
  • Evaluate branch financial discipline and record-keeping processes.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports after audits.
  • Clearly highlight serious irregularities, weaknesses and risks.
  • Provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Submit reports to central office and perform follow-up.
  • Verify implementation of recommendations from previous audits.
  • Prepare regular follow-up reports.
  • Provide training and coaching to field staff to improve their skills.

Key responsibilities (summary): Develop annual and quarterly audit plans and prioritize branch audits using risk analysis. Conduct on-site branch and center-level audits, including verification of member loans, re-loans and documentation. Verify cash books, bank accounts, vouchers, passbooks and reconciliation statements. Identify discrepancies between collection sheets, receipt books and transaction registers and report irregularities. Assess compliance with PKSF and CEDAR policies and procedures and prepare detailed audit reports with corrective recommendations. Follow up on previous audit recommendations and prepare regular follow-up reports. Evaluate staff performance related to loan disbursement, collection and record-keeping; provide on-the-job advice and training. Monitor loan arrears, write-offs and overdue management; suggest process improvements. Ensure confidentiality, impartiality and integrity in all audit activities and documentation. What we expect from applicants: Minimum BBA/BCom (Accounting, Finance or Management) or equivalent bachelor's degree. At least 5 years of professional experience in auditing, accounting or financial management in NGO or microcredit sector. Strong analytical and report-writing skills; proficient in MS Excel and MS Word. Honesty, neutrality and ability to manage sensitive financial information. Willingness to travel to field offices across Dhaka, Gazipur, Munshiganj, Narayanganj, Narsingdi and other districts. Driving license and own motorcycle preferred (will be considered an advantage). Benefits & remuneration: Probationary monthly salary: Tk. 30,000. Experienced candidates in loan programs may receive faster promotion and additional financial incentives.
