Job Responsibilities
- Provide overall MEAL leadership of the programme, ensuring coherence and prioritization of MEAL activities across partners.
- Coordinate with WHH MEAL Coordinator and MEAL Specialist to harmonize MEAL approaches in the consortium.
- Design, develop and update monitoring tools and indicator tracking tables (e.g., IPTT).
- Maintain program databases, ensure regular updates and manage data quality assurance.
- Lead data collection efforts, conduct Data Quality Assessments (DQA) and validate reported data.
- Organize field monitoring visits, produce monitoring reports and follow up on agreed actions using the Monitoring-Action Plan Tracker.
- Support design quality by reviewing logframes, results frameworks, MEAL plans and project plans.
- Lead and manage assessments, studies and evaluations; maintain an online tracker of research and evaluations.
- Ensure functionality of the Feedback and Complaint Response Mechanism (FCRM) and close feedback loops.
- Provide capacity building and technical support to program staff, sub-grantees and local partners on MEAL tools and templates.
- Support MEAL budget management, reporting, evidence generation and knowledge-sharing to strengthen program performance.

Job Description
Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is recruiting a dedicated MEAL Officer for a major development and humanitarian job opportunity in Cox's Bazar (Teknaf). This role is part of the Strengthening Inclusive Governance and Adaptive Social Cohesion (SI GA) project supported by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and BMZ. The selected candidate will work within an experienced team to ensure robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning systems are in place and functioning, while strengthening partner capacity and ensuring quality program delivery. Required skills and qualifications: Master’s degree (preferably in Social Science, Development Studies, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration or related field). Minimum 6 years of MEAL experience in donor-funded programmes, including at least 3 years managing MEAL teams; prior NGO experience preferred. Strong knowledge of MEAL programming in both humanitarian and development contexts and donor MEAL standards. Excellent analytical skills, MS Excel proficiency; familiarity with MS Access, SPSS, Stata, Power BI or GIS is advantageous. Excellent report writing and presentation skills in Bangla and English. Ability and willingness to travel frequently to program areas, including Rohingya camps. Desirable attributes: community-based capacity building, peacebuilding/social cohesion experience, commitment to gender equality, child safeguarding and PSEA, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to perform under pressure and adapt to field conditions.
