Job Responsibilities
- Develop strategy, design and planning to promote good governance, strengthen democracy, ensure human rights and free and fair elections.
- Provide secretarial support to the SHUJAN Secretary/CEO and senior management.
- Arrange and support round-table discussions, seminars and workshops on election and governance issues in Dhaka and districts.
- Communicate and mobilize distinguished people and institutes to advocate for accountability, transparency and fairness.
- Advocate with policy makers and government officials on governance and accountability issues.
- Collect antecedents of candidates, prepare comparative statements and disseminate among voters.
- Develop and run campaigns in print, electronic and social media promoting good governance and democracy.
- Educate voters, especially first-time voters, through events and social media programs.
- Support formation, reformation and tracking of SHUJAN committees with updated databases.
- Arrange leadership development training and develop training/workshop modules for volunteers.
- Prepare keynote papers for press conferences, roundtables and seminars.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Required qualifications & experience Master’s degree in economics, social science, political science, public administration or related discipline from a reputed university. Bachelor degree(s): BSS or BBS in Economics (as applicable). Minimum 10–12 years of relevant work experience with national/international development organizations, preferably within the NGO sector. Sound knowledge of Bangladesh’s electoral system, political culture and governance issues. Skills and personal attributes Excellent command of English (both verbal and written). High-level competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Strong analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills. Demonstrated networking ability and relationships with political leaders, activists and civil society at national and local levels.
