Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
- Assist or perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries as needed (phaco, SICS, DCT, DCR, external disease management).
- Monitor post-operative patients and ensure proper recovery protocols.
- Supervise junior medical staff and ensure quality care delivery.

The position may be available on a full-time, part-time or chamber basis depending on the role and agreement with the company.Key responsibilitiesProvide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosis and management of patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.Perform or assist in ophthalmic surgeries and procedures including phacoemulsification, SICS, DCT, DCR and other specialty procedures as appropriate.Monitor post-operative patients and ensure adherence to recovery and safety protocols.Supervise, mentor and train junior medical staff and support clinical teams to ensure consistent, high-quality care.Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.Participate in community outreach programs and eye screening camps to expand access to eye care services.Contribute to administrative duties, budgeting and risk-management activities relevant to ophthalmic services.Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, medical ethics and hospital policies.Required qualifications & educationBachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).MBBS degree with current BMDC registration.For ophthalmologist roles, relevant postgraduate qualifications or demonstrable surgical experience is strongly preferred.ExperienceMinimum 5 years of relevant experience; preferred range 5 to 10 years working in hospital or chamber settings with ophthalmic services.Proven experience handling outpatient departments and supervising junior clinicians is an advantage.Skills & attributesClinical ophthalmology and surgical skills (phaco, SICS, DCT, DCR, external diseases, dry eye management).Strong patient-care orientation, compassion and communication skills.Leadership, team-working ability and capacity to work independently.Good documentation and administrative skills.Compensation & benefitsSalary range: Tk. 80,000 - 150,000 per month (roles vary by designation and experience).Overtime allowance.Partially subsidized lunch facilities.Salary review: half yearly.Festival bonuses (2 annually).Location & workplaceWorkplace: Birganj Grameen Eye Hospital, Khansama Road, Birganj, Dinajpur.
