Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement a participatory, GESI-sensitive methodology (desk review, KIIs, FGDs, transect walks, validation workshop).
- Identify and analyze key agricultural production challenges, vulnerabilities, and constraints, with GESI-disaggregated findings.
- Map existing and potential GESI-responsive agroecological practices and assess effectiveness, sustainability, accessibility, and scalability.
- Prioritize and recommend high-potential practices for piloting and promotion through Community Learning Centers (CLCs).
- Prepare inception report, draft assessment report, present findings, incorporate feedback, and submit the final assessment report.
- Ensure confidentiality and appropriate handling of provided project documents and data.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years experience in agricultural assessments and participatory rural appraisals (PRA).
- Proven experience with gender and social inclusion (GESI) analyses.
- Strong knowledge of nature-based solutions, climate-resilient agriculture, and agroecological principles.
- In-depth understanding of Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) socio-cultural and agricultural context.
- Analytical, facilitation, mapping, and professional report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in local languages (Chakma, Tripura, Marma) is an advantage.

OverviewTrinamul-Unnayan-Sangstha (TUS) in partnership with HELVETAS is seeking an experienced consultant to conduct a rigorous, participatory assessment of the most pressing agricultural needs and to map GESI-responsive, nature-based agroecological practices in Dighinala Upazila, Khagrachhari District, Chattogram Hill Tracts. Raw data collection tools and transcripts should be annexed.Presentation of draft findings to project stakeholders and a validation workshop summary.Final Assessment Report incorporating feedback.Required qualifications & skillsAdvanced degree in Agriculture, Agroecology, Environmental Science, Development Studies, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience conducting agricultural assessments, participatory rural appraisals (PRA), and GESI analyses, preferably with NGOs or development agencies.Strong knowledge of nature-based solutions, climate-resilient agriculture, and agroecological principles.In-depth understanding of the CHT context, socio-cultural dynamics, and local agricultural systems.
