Job Responsibilities
- Create a supportive English learning environment and teach reading, writing, speaking and listening to Rohingya learners.
- Develop and adapt the Myanmar curriculum to the needs and proficiency levels of Rohingya teachers and learners.
- Plan and deliver dynamic, interactive lessons using a variety of instructional strategies and materials.
- Assess student learning through evaluations, assignments, quizzes and tests; provide timely constructive feedback.
- Provide individualized support for learners needing extra help and implement remedial strategies.
- Use language immersion activities (conversations, role-plays, language games) to improve fluency.
- Integrate English instruction across subjects to reinforce learning and interdisciplinary connections.
- Develop and administer language proficiency assessments to monitor achievement and improvement areas.
- Collaborate with implementing partners, teachers and staff to align English instruction with programme goals.
- Uphold and implement safeguarding standards; follow safeguarding reporting procedures and provide guidance on safe working environments.

Job Description
BRAC invites applications for a vital education role supporting Rohingya children on Bhasan Char. This job is a field-facing, contractual position for a compassionate and experienced English language teacher who will function as a Project Officer (English Language Coach). The successful candidate will join a reputable development company and deliver high-quality, inclusive instruction aligned with the Myanmar curriculum, provide teacher coaching, and ensure safeguarding standards are upheld at all times. The Project Officer will strengthen classroom practices, support Rohingya teachers, monitor progress, and ensure learning materials and methodologies are culturally and contextually appropriate.Key responsibilities (summary):Create a supportive and inclusive English learning environment for Rohingya children and teachers.Plan and deliver interactive lessons that promote listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.Develop and adapt the Myanmar curriculum and learning materials to students’ proficiency levels.Conduct regular assessments, track learning progress and provide timely feedback and remedial support.Coach, mentor and build capacity of Rohingya teachers and implementing partners to improve classroom instruction.Use immersive language activities such as conversations, role-plays and language games to foster fluency.Integrate language learning across subject areas and reinforce cross-curricular connections.Collaborate with colleagues, parents, caregivers and community stakeholders to support learner outcomes.Uphold and promote BRAC’s child safeguarding policy and standards; follow reporting procedures when necessary.Contribute to monitoring, reporting and documentation of programme achievements and challenges.Required education & experience:BAchelor’s or Master’s in English from a UGC-recognised university or equivalent institute.At least 1 year of relevant experience.
