Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Urban and Regional Planning, Statistics, Anthropology, Social Work, Disaster Management, Economics or other relevant social science field.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, plan and ensure effective monitoring of Shelter and WASH project activities.
  • Collect, compile and validate data from field teams using approved formats and ensure timely reporting.
  • Monitor project indicators and targets using sex-, age- and disability-disaggregated data.
  • Coordinate with sector leads (WASH, Shelter, Protection) and MEAL team to align monitoring with donor requirements.
  • Support development, adaptation and orientation of KOBO and other data collection tools.
  • Maintain monitoring dashboards, records and checklists to ensure donor compliance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, interim and final narrative reports as per donor and project requirements.
  • Update project tracking systems and ensure organizational visibility through documentation.
  • Manage complaints & feedback mechanism (CFM) and maintain complaint logs and registers.
  • Promote SPHERE and Core Humanitarian Standards and integrate community feedback.
  • Organize learning events, prepare success/case stories and maintain learning logs.
  • Conduct needs assessments, PDMs, FGDs, KIIs and support baseline/midline/endline evaluations.
  • Support capacity building for staff, stakeholders and project participants on CFM, child protection and safeguarding.
  • Contribute to other project activities and travel frequently to remote field locations as required.
  • Ensure safeguarding and PSEA compliance and support program management in related investigations.

Islamic Relief Bangladesh is seeking a dedicated Assistant MEAL Officer to join its Humanitarian Crisis Response Programme in Cox's Bazar (Ukhia). This job circular invites experienced MEAL professionals to contribute to high-quality monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) across Shelter and WASH interventions in a dynamic humanitarian context.
