Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in implementing project activities and ensuring delivery of milestones.
- Identify potential microenterprises (MEs) and select appropriate RECP practices for adoption.
- Provide technical support to MEs at cluster level and follow-up on adoption.
- Select MEs for demonstration, set up demonstrations, and monitor progress.
- Assist in preparing training manuals, leaflets, case stories and other IEC materials.
- Arrange training, field days, meetings, workshops, seminars, and fairs as per project plan.
- Explore circular economy opportunities, value-added product diversification and new market potential.
- Assist in producing monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports.
- Maintain linkages with BSTI, BFSA, DoE, academicians, value-chain actors and private sector companies.
- Carry out regular field visits and report on MEs’ progress.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Project Manager and SAJIDA Foundation management.
Required Skills

OverviewSAJIDA FOUNDATION is seeking a motivated Technical Officer (Food Processing) to join the ‘Promoting Resilient Green Growth in Restaurants, Street & Bakery Food’ sub-project under the SMART (Sustainable Microenterprise and Resilient Transformation) programme. This job offers an exciting opportunity to work with a respected company and multi-donor partners (including the World Bank and PKSF) to support microenterprises, promote resource-efficient and climate-resilient practices, and implement circular-economy initiatives in Bangladesh.Why this job mattersThis circular-focused role is ideal for professionals who want to combine technical food processing knowledge with community-level enterprise development. The position involves field engagement, training design and delivery, demonstration set-ups, and strong stakeholder coordination. Candidates will be part of a team working across Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Keraniganj Upazila.Key responsibilitiesAssist the Project Manager in implementing project activities and ensuring timely delivery of milestones.Identify and select potential microenterprises (MEs) for interventions, and recommend appropriate resource-efficient and cleaner production (RECP) practices.Provide technical support to MEs at cluster level, including hands-on demonstrations and follow-up visits.Support demonstration setup, monitor adoption, and document outcomes for replication.Co-develop training manuals, leaflets, case stories and other IEC materials relevant to food safety, RECP and circular economy practices.Organize and facilitate trainings, field days, workshops, seminars, environment club meetings and fairs.Explore value-added product diversification, circular economy linkages and new market opportunities for MEs.Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports and contribute to project documentation and donor reporting as required.Maintain linkages with government departments (e.g., BSTI, BFSA, DoE), academicians, value-chain actors, and private sector partners.Carry out regular field visits to track progress, assess technical needs, and adjust interventions accordingly.Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or SAJIDA Foundation management.Required education & experienceBachelor (B.Sc/Honors) in Food Engineering, Food Processing Engineering, Food Technology, Food Engineering & Tea Technology or related field from a UGC-approved university.Master’s degree in a relevant subject will be given preference.Minimum 3 years of full-time professional experience in relevant sectors (NGO experience preferred).Experience with PKSF or multi-lateral donor funded projects, and enterprise development projects, is an advantage.Knowledge, skills & attributesKnowledge of RECP (resource efficient and cleaner production), food safety standards (HACCP, ISO related concepts) and relevant sectoral certification.Practical experience in development of training modules, leaflets and case stories.Strong communication, interpersonal and team-working skills.Good computer literacy (MS Office and relevant applications).Ability to work in field conditions and adapt to project needs.Additional requirementsAge: At most 35 years (as stated in the circular).Gender: M, F, O — women are actively encouraged to apply.Employment terms & benefitsInitial contract: one-year term (with possible extension up to 2028-06-30 based on satisfactory performance).Monthly consolidated salary: BDT 50,000 per month (inclusive of applicable taxes).Yearly increment: 5%.Other admissible benefits as per project policy (festival bonus, Bangla Noboborsho allowance, mobile allowance, etc.).LocationWork will be implemented across DNCC, DSCC and Keraniganj (Dhaka district).
