Job Responsibilities
- Maintain sub-project accounts in accordance with International Accounting Standards (IAS) and GAAP on an accrual basis.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements with appropriate disclosures.
- Monitor fund flows from PKSF to sub-project and sub-project to microenterprises, ensuring procedures are followed.
- Ensure internal controls and arrangements for proper utilization and accounting of funds.
- Prepare yearly/half-yearly detailed sub-project budgets aligned with procurement and work plans.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and half-yearly reimbursement bills.
- Manage procurement-related financial processes and update procurement plans.
- Maintain sub-project bank account and prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
- Coordinate and liaise with SMART-PMU of PKSF on accounts and budget matters.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary information and documentation.
- Conduct frequent field visits to ensure strong monitoring of sub-project financial activities.
- Oversee day-to-day administrative financial tasks and manage logistics as needed.

Overview: SAJIDA Foundation is seeking an experienced Accounts and Finance Officer to join a sub-project titled “Promoting Resilient Green Growth in Restaurants, Street & Bakery Food” under the SMART project. This job offers an opportunity to contribute to sustainable microenterprise development in Bangladesh while ensuring strong financial management, compliance, and fiduciary oversight. The post supports implementation across Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Keraniganj Upazila (Dhaka district). This is a contractual position with an initial one-year term and potential extension through 2028 based on performance.Key responsibilities (summary):Maintain sub-project accounts in accordance with International Accounting Standards (IAS) and GAAP on an accrual basis.Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including notes, income/expenditure statements, and balance positions.Monitor fund flows from PKSF to the sub-project and onward to microenterprises to ensure compliance with procedures.Ensure proper internal control systems for fund utilization, accounting, and reporting.Prepare and update detailed annual/half-year budgets and link budgets with the procurement plan and work plans.Prepare monthly financial reports and half-yearly reimbursement bills for the sub-project.Manage procurement-related financial processes, maintain procurement plans, and ensure procurement policy compliance.Maintain sub-project bank accounts and prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.Coordinate with SMART-PMU of PKSF on budget and accounts matters; assist internal and external audits by providing required information.Conduct frequent field visits for strong financial monitoring and review audit reports with management.Detailed duties (highlights):Maintain separate books of accounts and ensure accurate bookkeeping under historical cost convention.Track inventory levels and maintain records to avoid gaps.Support logistics and day-to-day administrative financial functions.Support development of cost proposals, training budgets and ensure shared costs are correctly allocated.Required qualifications & skills:Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a UGC-approved university; or a four-year undergraduate degree (BCom) plus master’s as specified.
