Job Responsibilities
- Integrate GESI principles across project activities and ensure meaningful participation of women, indigenous peoples and marginalized groups.
- Conduct gender and social inclusion assessments and recommend context-specific measures.
- Design and deliver capacity-building and awareness sessions for communities and project staff.
- Facilitate participatory consultations and ensure inclusive decision-making processes.
- Monitor and report on GESI indicators and contribute to donor reporting and learning products.
- Support grievance redress mechanisms and ensure safe handling of gender-related issues.
- Coordinate with project partners, local government and stakeholders for GESI-sensitive implementation.

Job Description
Arannayk Foundation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Officer to support the delivery of the project “Integrated Climate Adaptation Solutions for the Hindukush Himalaya Region (HI-CAS)” funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). This job offers an opportunity to work with a respected non-profit company committed to forest and biodiversity conservation in Bangladesh, with project sites in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (Bandarban and Khagrachari).This circular invites applications from motivated professionals who are passionate about promoting gender-responsive, socially inclusive approaches within climate resilience and livelihood initiatives. Applicants from diverse backgrounds, including women and indigenous community members, are strongly encouraged to apply.What this job involvesProvide technical leadership and practical support to integrate GESI principles across project activities in Bandarban and Khagrachari.Conduct gender and social inclusion assessments and vulnerability analyses to inform project planning and adaptation interventions.Design, implement and monitor community outreach, awareness-raising and capacity building activities that promote the meaningful participation of women, indigenous peoples, and other marginalized groups.Facilitate participatory consultations with local communities, local government, and project partners to ensure inclusive decision-making.Support development and review of project materials, training curricula, and monitoring tools to ensure GESI-sensitive content.Coordinate closely with project staff, implementing partners and donors to ensure compliance with GESI commitments and reporting requirements.Collect, analyze and report qualitative and quantitative data on GESI indicators and contribute to periodic project reports.Provide coaching and on-the-job support to project teams to mainstream GESI into technical interventions (e.g., spring-shed management, solar irrigation, climate-resilient livelihoods).Support grievance redress mechanisms and ensure safe, confidential handling of gender-related concerns.Key responsibilities (summary)Lead GESI integration across project cycles: assessment, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.Develop and deliver training and capacity-building sessions for project staff and community stakeholders.Establish partnerships with local organizations and community representatives to enhance inclusion.Prepare timely and high-quality reports, case studies and learning briefs for the company and donor.Required skills and qualificationsMinimum education: Degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Sociology, Anthropology or related field (equivalent qualifications acceptable).Practical experience working on gender, social inclusion or community development within NGO or development projects (experience in climate, natural resource management or rural livelihoods desirable).Strong facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in multicultural and multilingual settings.Proven ability to design and deliver participatory trainings and community engagement processes.Good reporting and documentation skills in English and Bangla; experience preparing donor-focused materials is an advantage.Familiarity with monitoring frameworks, data collection and basic analysis for GESI indicators.Willingness to travel to field sites in Bandarban and Khagrachari and engage directly with local communities.Other informationLocation: Bandarban (project field) with office contact at Wasi Tower, Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka 1206, Bangladesh.Employment type: Full Time.Vacancies: 1.Gender: M,F (applications encouraged from women and diverse backgrounds).Application deadline: 30 September 2025 (11:59 PM Bangladesh Standard Time).
