Job Responsibilities
- Monitor day-to-day knitting operations to ensure target output and efficiency.
- Ensure proper allocation of machines, manpower, and materials to meet production schedules.
- Coordinate with planning and merchandising teams for order execution and delivery timelines.
- Inspect fabric output for quality defects (drop stitches, holes, GSM variations, stripes, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to quality standards for different fabric types (cotton, polyester, blends).
- Coordinate with quality control and lab teams for test runs and sample approvals.
- Ensure proper setting and programming of knitting machines (circular, flat, etc.).
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Optimize machine utilization and minimize idle time or machine downtime.
- Check yarn quality and quantity before loading to machines and maintain yarn consumption records.
- Maintain shift-wise and daily production reports; monitor KPIs and report deviations with corrective actions.
- Supervise, train, and motivate a team of machine operators and helpers; enforce SOPs and safety protocols.
